The Chicagoland area now has the most expensive gas in the nation at an average of $4.07 a gallon, and the price increases aren’t over yet, according to the Chicago Tribune. They say that gas could reach $7 per gallon because more drivers in India and China will continue to consume as much gas as normal, as American oil consumption decreases. Uggggghh!!

I try to take public transportation whenever possible, but living out the suburbs, it’s not always an option. I really love my Jeep, but I’m really starting to wonder if I should look into trading it in for a Civic or something with similar gas mileage.

Update: According to Channel 2 (CBS) the reason the prices are so high in Chicago is due to the awesome 20% tax on gas! — Link
